Get Weird Al To Direct Message Erica For Her Birthday
For Erica’s birthday, which is August 5th, we are running a contest. We mentioned it near the end of Episode 21.
It is no secret that Erica loves “Weird Al” Yankovic. Her love for Mr. Yankovic exceeds perhaps even that of oxygen, or the breathing of oxygen, or the magic process inside our bodies that turns oxygen into blood or however it works.
The contest rules are as follows:
- Get “Weird Al” Yankovic (@alyankovic) to “Direct Message” Erica’s Twitter account (@redrabbit) by the end of the day on her birthday, which is August 5th.
- Direct Messages are explained here if you’re out of the loop on this whole Twitter business.
- It doesn’t have to say “Happy Birthday.”
- To be the official winner the direct message must contain proof that you were the responsible party. Erica (and to some extent Mr. Yankovic) will have final say as to whom is the winner.
- We (and this contest) are not affiliated in any way with Mr. Yankovic. He doesn’t know who we are.
- Don’t be an asshole to Weird Al, please. Sending him a bunch of @replies and harassing him to do this might get you disqualified. Disqualification is an arbitrary event based on whether Erica thinks you’re being a jerk. Don’t be a jerk.
If you win, Erica will send you her prized “Weird Al” Yankovic-signed kazoo. Good luck!
